Prints and Puff’s with River Island

I am quite a ‘simple’ girl, if you want to put it that way, in regards to fashion. I know what I like, and that’s that. I pull out either my plain black, white or grey clothing item from my wardrobe and sling it on and I’m ready to go. Only recently have I been challenging myself to include a bit of colour in my wardrobe, which sounds pretty bad being a fashion blogger, opps.

A lot of my evenings are spent vigorously scrolling through the Asos new in page trying to convince myself to go out of my comfort zone and actually purchase something that is a little more adventrous. Well, finally boys and girls I am putting together a fashion blog post that actually includes more of a bold outfit for me. My monochrome wardrobe is slowly starting to deteriorate and I am bringing some more fresh and stylish pieces into my collection.

I channelled my inner 60’s with a mish mash of prints and finally jumped on the band wagon of the new in puffed sleeves trend. My favourite piece of this outfit does come down to the stunning oversized pinstripe shirt, not only does it remind me of my childhood when my parents used to put me in the cutest pinstripe dresses and tights, but I adore the puffed sleeves, which is something I never thought I would like on myself. I am now starting to rethink my whole wardrobe and have concluded that everything needs to be puffed.

I feel like the mixing of patterns is slightly more forgiving in the ‘fashion’ and ‘blogging’ world today. It used to be such a frowned upon thing back in the day. ‘No, you can’t pair that with that, it will look silly and clash’ – Sometimes clashing is a good thing, if it is done in the right way. I paired my River Island shirt with this gorgeous aztec bag (also by RI). I love aztec, to the point where I have been considering for a while getting an animal in a aztec print tattooed on me, but let’s leave that for another blog post another day. I love the colours in this, the orange is bright and summery and compliments the more neutral outfit wonderfully. Plus it has a tassel on it, who doesn’t love a good tassel?

Small details. These are the little things that complete an outfit, am I right? I’ve had this watch for a good 2 years from River Island and it is one of my favourites still to this day. I have always been lover of gold accessories and the dimonties around the face of the watch make me feel extra sassy.
